Fw: [rwg] FW: Say it Loud: Share Your Story for Immigration Reform!
Good opportunity to share stories about the realities of immigrants in our communities. Could be very helpful as a way to educate the larger community about the need for comprehensive immigration reform.

Dear RWG Allies,
Hope everyone is doing well. Below is announcement for “Say It Loud: Share Your Story for Immigration Reform!”, a video documentation project launched by SAALT this week. As part of this project, community members are invited to share their experiences with the immigration system and add their voices to the call for immigration reform. We are also seeking applicants for Community Storytellers to gather video clips from local communities. Please feel free to forward to any community members or organizations who may find it of interest.

This is about you. Your family. Your story. Your experience.
Say It Loud.
We need to put names, faces, and stories to the immigration reform debate and we need your help!
This spring, as Congress and the Administration debate immigration reform, SAALT will be collecting video testimonials of immigration struggles and challenges to show how our broken immigration system affects South Asian individuals and families. The US immigration system can be fixed and SAALT is working to effect policy change on a national level. Your stories and experiences with the immigration system can be powerful tools to lend support to immigration reform. Call for immigration reform by answering a simple question:
Why do you believe the US immigration system needs to change?
Share your story with us today.
We are also looking for regional "Community Storytellers" to collect video clips in their community. Community Storytellers will receive an online training, toolkit, and a small stipend.

How can I get involved?
1. Share Your Story! Think about how you would answer this question: "Why do you believe that the US immigration system needs to change?" Take a short video clip of yourself sharing your story and send it to SAALT. Click here for detailed instructions.
2. Apply to be a Community Storyteller: We are looking for Community Storytellers from around the US to document their community's story by collecting these video clips. If selected, SAALT will provide an online training as well as a small stipend. The approximate time frame for this project is February 15th - March 31st. Click here to apply to be a Community Storyteller - deadline February 15th!
