Title: Human Resources Director

Salary: $84,589 to $115,875
This position reports to the Vice President of Strategic Advancement and works collaboratively with all areas of the college to meet District goals. The Human Resources Director maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, assessing and improving employee and labor relations and human resources policies, programs and practices. The Human Resources Director will represent MATC in all union relations, including contract negotiations, and will consult with MATC leadership on matters of policy and memoranda of understanding prior to and during the negotiation process.
The Human Resources Director guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the entire organization. The major areas directed are:
Recruiting, staffing and workforce planning
Labor & employee relations
Performance management and improvement systems
Employee orientation, development and training
Policy development and documentation
Compensation and benefits administration
Employee health and wellness
1 (a). Master's degree in Human Resources, Management,
Business Administration or a closely related field and six (6) years experience in human resources management, three (3) years of which must have been in a management position which includes experience with union management, contract negotiations and labor relations.
1 (b). A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in
Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or a closely related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, three (3) of which must be in a management position which includes experience with union management, contract negotiations and labor relations.
2. Career progression which demonstrates a commitment to the field of human resources, such as evidenced through attainment of a PHR or SPHR certification, experience at a senior management level in an educational or professional institution, or other similar experience in a closely related field.
