                      Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).

I sent an email at 1:53am when I noticed there was police activity taking place at that very moment and just got the message in the afternoon!!! -discouraging-

If everything and everyone is well and happy, perfect. It would be great to know. We are a community after all, but I do see stuff going on constantly. Only, I am not getting the information and it is disappointing as some of us are making the extra effort to be active community members for the benefit of all, including police results and safety.

If there is any concern about who gets these messages so that they don't get to the wrong guys, which would be a valid concern, I think the community members here wouldn't mind sharing some basic information to clear those doubts with the list serve admin.

Now, if this list serve is not reliable as a tool, those of us concerned about staying in touch and on top of issues and getting to know what goes on in our streets should look into alternatives.

Hope this message serves to energize, motivate, and clarify communication among all of us as we share the same interests.

I agree if you monitor other list serve, you will notice a very fast response to community members when they make inquiries about crime issues.  For some unknown reason this list serve idles not have enough active communication with the community members.

                        Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).

That building and roof need more light and the owner should take of that since it is a recurrent issue now.

Seems like you are getting them now! Nice to hear the dogs to be honest and to see the police presence on Stanton and Bryan now.
That building and roof need more light and the owner should take of that since it is a recurrent issue now.
                            Thanks!

Pls. Let us know if we can help somehow.

                              Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).

Seems like you are getting them now! Nice to hear the dogs to be honest and to see the police presence on Stanton and Bryan now.
That building and roof need more light and the owner should take of that since it is a recurrent issue now.
                              Thanks!

Pls. Let us know if we can help somehow.

Unfortunately, the burglar(s) got away. He/they may have slipped out of the area while we were in the process of setting up our perimeter. Fortunately, however, the business owner suffered no damage to his establishment and no loss of property.

Thanks Captain Mclean for your response… I would like to explain to all that are on this listserv that there is a moderator and at this time they do not work 24/7 thus there may be a delay at times… as stated below if you need an immediate police response; please call 911 …also if there is a matter that you would like to discuss in real time you may contact the on duty watch commander as well as Commander Hoey, who is very responsive to his citizens

Some of you asked about the participation on the listserv…. I am happy to say it is one source of communication between MPD and the community however we also have PSA meetings, attend various community association/civic association meetings, Anc meetings and hold as well as participate in vast events for the youth and residents in 7d…we encourage citizens to join and use it to get and share information   - it is an interactive tool

                                Overall currently we have over 11000 listserv members citywide (2774 members = 1d, 1309 members=2d, 1694 members = 3d, 1705 members = 4d, 1867 members = 5d, 732 members = 6d, 843 members = 7d and 143 members = SLD site) ….some citizens use it more than others throughout the city … 5d and 4d had the most postings made by citizens in past week…

7d posted 38 postings in a day period whereas MPD members posted 30 of the messages.. .. 8 messages were sent by community members …. We encourage MPD managers to post real time information on violent crime, great police work done by their members and by the community, prevention tips and meeting information.. We also will respond to inquiries made by citizens on the listserv to us as well …. Thank you for the inquiry and have a good day

Apologies for the delayed response, but I was on leave. From looking at my in-box, it appears that while your message was written at 1:53 a.m., it did not reach my e-mail in-box until 3:47 p.m. I believe this to be a listserv issue, and will call it to the attention of the listserv administrator immediately. If I notice any such other delays, I will also make note of those and forward that information as well.

Please be advised that, should you ever need to communicate with the 7D watch commander, on any shift, he/she can be reached via cell phone at 202-437-8878. As for me, personally, I generally work Tuesday through Saturday nights from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. I enjoy keeping the community up to date, and will usually respond as soon as I become aware of any questions or concerns.

                                Sincerely,

                                  Sincerely,

Unfortunately, the burglar(s) got away. He/they may have slipped out of the area while we were in the process of setting up our perimeter. Fortunately, however, the business owner suffered no damage to his establishment and no loss of property.

                                    Dear lufego1,

                                    Sincerely,

                                    Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).

                                      Sincerely,

                                      Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).

Seems like you are getting them now! Nice to hear the dogs to be honest and to see the police presence on Stanton and Bryan now.
That building and roof need more light and the owner should take of that since it is a recurrent issue now.
                                      Thanks!

Pls. Let us know if we can help somehow.

I just heard two gunshots around Douglass Place and Stanton Rd. Just in case.

                                        Dear lufego1,

                                        Sincerely,

                                        Dear all,
I have not seeing any communications for about 2 weeks -other than the usual reports and notifications- so I am wondering if this list serve is working well and serving the purpose of building and maintaining that communication strength to help each other (community and MPD).
