CCTV at that location at a minimum. Supporting Councilman Graham's anti-loitering legislation would help. The Harry Thomas Rec Center is open and the pool is nice and cool (and free) no reason these kids should be out there. Too bad you can't arrest their parents for doing a lousy job.

This is from the metbranchtrail message board, I think it is relevant here. This isn't the first incident of this type that I've heard of. I hope we are making progress identifying who these kids are and to make it clear this type of intimidating behavior will not be tolerated. Someone's going to get hurt.

On my way home at about 6:15 this evening, I encountered a group of 5-6 kids out on the trail near S St. NE. I would guess they were about 14 or 15 years old. As I approached, one of the kids jumped out in the trail and told me to stop. I asked him to please get off the trail and he did.
After I passed the group, a number of rocks flew over my head and landed on the trail in front of me. I don't think they were trying to actually hit me (and if they were, they must have had terrible aim). I think they were just messing around.
Anyway, just thoughts folk should know and should keep an eye out.
