DPW to Host Online Chat Wed., Mar. 31; Citizens Invited to Join Hour-Long Discussion to Understand "Who Does What"
Up until several years ago, the Department of Public Works (DPW) fixed potholes, repaired water mains, and issued drivers’ licenses. Today other agencies are responsible for these services. DPW Customer Service and Clearing House staff will take questions from an online audience during a live, one-hour chat on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at noon. DPW customer service staff will answer questions about DPW services and clear up misconceptions about services DPW once performed when it was a larger agency and to give them a better understanding of who to call for what.
Residents can join or follow the discussion at dpw.dc.gov/livechat. Residents also may submit questions in advance on DPW’s Twitter account (http://twitter.com/DCDPW), Facebook page, or by email to nancee.lyons@.... DPW Director William O. Howland, Jr. will answer as many questions as possible.
