Reminder: National Night Out Events to Run Throughout the Evening
The Metropolitan Police Department will celebrate National Night Out this evening. This year is the 26th year.
National Night Out is designed to bring communities and local law enforcement (who serve these communities) together for a night to celebrate local partnerships against crime. (nno.org)
As in previous years, the Chief will begin the night at the kickoff site, (THEARC, 1901 Mississippi Ave, SE), then visit other sites, around the city, along with various city officials, community leaders and community partners, like the Guardian Angels and the Citizen Advisory Council.
Today’s temperatures are consistent with previous National Night Out dates. In other words, it is hot. Please take the necessary precautions to avoid heat-related emergencies.
