Re: [Brookland] opened Mail + Mail theft
I saw someone going through mailboxes, reported it to the police, and they did a search through the neighborhood, and didn't catch him. I don't know what else we can do, but raise awareness.

We are on 12th and Otis. Our mail is being stolen for about 2 months now. We have reported the matter to the police but haven't heard back. Basically, all greeting cards with cash or checks never reach us. We strongly suspect the post office staff because we don't have a mailbox (our mail is slid right through a slot in the door) but have no proof. Has anyone else experienced this?
I love having faith.......It makes me believe in you, me and everyone else:)

Date: Sunday, July 26, 2009, 9:03 PMI've not heard anything of such. However, such acts as opening mail that belobgs to someone else is a federal crime in violation of the right to privacy. So whoever may be the perp here should be promptly identified and reported to both state and federal authorities.

Subject: [Brookland] opened Mail
I came home yesterday to find a letter of mine opened in my mailbox. It was a receipt, but from the outside it did look like a check.A few months ago I reported a man walking down 12th Street, between Girard and Hamlin, going through mail boxes. Has their been any other reports like this?
