D.C. police are investigating the stabbing death of a man early this morning in the Brentwood neighborhood of Northeast Washington.

The man was found in the 2700 block of 10th Street NE, about one block north of Rhode Island Avenue, at about 2:30 a.m. police spokeswoman Helen Andrews said. He appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.

Police said the man, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead just before 4 a.m. No one has been arrested.

The man was the 186th person to be killed in the city this year. A total of 180 people were killed in the District in 2007.
