Thanks,  I realized that Daryl Green wasn't the football legend.
I hard core on these subjects and feel anytime gun shots occur as a result of a patron leaving the bar, the license should be pulled.  I don't think it matters where someone lives,  the sheer fact that they were in the establishment and then shot people in my mind doesn't keep the establishment from coming under investigation.
I also think the Chief is very savvy about doing what is right as notably she has closed several clubs for the violence that has occurred directly related to patrons leaving.
Good work by the way Commander Greene,  you are doing an impressive job.

      Commander,

What does the owner have to do with this investigation?

Daryl Green may own it but that does not mean there is no wrong done by the establishment.

You posting begins to sound as if special consideration was given to the Cardinal's Nest due to the owner being Daryl Green.

The temporary suspension was lifted because the initial investigative leads did not materialize to a point that would legally support the closure.  The patrons were not regular attendees in the sense that I believe that is the first go-go band that the Cardinals Nest has allowed to perform.  The go-go style performances attracted many rival neighborhoods and thus routinely attribute to violence in or around the area of these events.

The owner of the Cardinals Nest is Darryl Green.  The victims in this case were probably not known to the management but only patrons, the investigation is continuing and developing background on the victims and his associates.  The victim of the homicide was from 14th and W Street area and they are known to rival the Edgewood terrace crew.  I will continue to keep the community posted on major developments within this investigation! !

Brian, it is my understanding the ABRA/ABC Board did not overturn the Chiefs decision, rather the Chief retracted the Summary Suspension.  The ABC Board did not review or investigate the matter because the matter was withdrawn.   In response to your other questions, I believe Commander Greene will comment during the 5DCAC meeting tonight at 5D headquarters, 1805 Bladensburg Road, NE , 7pm.  I hope to see you and others there tonight.  Thanks.

Thanks, Robert.  But I'm afraid your post leaves more questions than it answers.

I know this apparent exoneration of the Cardinal's Nest will be disappointing news to a number of area residents who have complained repeatedly to officials of the disturbances related to the Cardinal's Nest.  Apparently, underage serving and/or over serving of CUA students has been a problem there, too.

That these disturbances have escalated into a triple shooting-- resulting in an apparent execution-style homicide of one of its patrons, immediately after leaving the Cardinals Nest-- gives everyone in Brookland great concern for public safety.

In your previous post on the subject of ABRA's procedure, you indicated ABRA would issue a finding-- presumably with some detail-- in response to Chief 's suspension of their liquor license.  What was that finding *specifically* and what were ABRA's specific reasons for so quickly reversing Chief Lanier's suspension of the Cardinal Nest's license?

And for you, or anyone at MPD, Robert...

Were the victims regular patrons of the Cardinals Nest?   How long had they been in the club that evening?  Are there promising leads?  Were they known to the management of the club?  Who are the owners of the Cardinal's Nest?

This is an ongoing concern.  Any information MPD can provide as to the progress of this shooting/ homicide investigation would of course be welcome by residents of the area.  And can that info (with any applicable MPD press release links) be posted on the MPD-5D listserv?

      Thanks, Robert.
