In the past month or so I've noticed a later model
Thunderbird, beige in color, DC license plate CU-3369
parked in the alley between Florida Ave NE and Morse
St NE, 1200 block. He parks directly behind the empty
carriage house and the stopped condo construction
building; a good spot to do something you don't want
to be seen doing. It may be nothing but then again it
may be something so I'd like to call attention to it
just to be vigilant and not incur the risk to myself
and my neighbors. It concerns me on several levels.
First, I don't want anyone parked out there watching
residents come and go out of their garages. This could
be a setup for future break-ins, robberies, etc.
Second, he could be engaging in illegal activity such
as sex, drug use/sale, etc. back there. He's there
each and everyday now. I don't want to pollute MPD
efforts by daily calling but it sure would be
appreciated if they could cruise through the alley
during daytime hours and engage this guy a few times
if seen there to send a message and perhaps force him
      to move on.
      Many thanks,

      T.Laskaris

Co Greene has this on his radar screen and has debriefed his troops in PSA 504. He has also made note of this on the listserve. I will also alert the 1d Commander of this vehicle for it borders PSA 102. Thanks for informing MPD of this matter.

do you have a program where a policy officer (or maybe an MPD home
safety specialist) will come to a person's house, and advise him/her on
how to make the home safer? There is something like this is my
hometown. The police department will look at things like which doors
and windows need to be more secure, placement of motion sensor lights,
                        etc.

If you have a program like this, please let me know how to contact them.

                        Thanks!

                          Dear MPD,

do you have a program where a policy officer (or maybe an MPD home
safety specialist) will come to a person's house, and advise him/her on
how to make the home safer? There is something like this is my
hometown. The police department will look at things like which doors
and windows need to be more secure, placement of motion sensor lights,
                          etc.

If you have a program like this, please let me know how to contact them.

                          Thanks!

I can speak of the First District where we had Officer Glover and Officer hardy conduct home security surveys for citizens – I can pass this request onto CO GREENE and he can assign your beat officer to come to your home and make safety recommendations – also if you attend your PSA meeting they will also be able to put you in contact with an officer that can assist in this survey
