      TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  8th Annual DC Walk to End Lupus Now

       

      (Washington, DC) - On Saturday, April 19, 2014, the 8th Annual DC Walk to End Lupus Now will take place in the District of Columbia.  In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

       

      Street Closures

      The street closure for the site set-up will begin at 5:00 am. Pennsylvania Avenue, NW will be closed between 12th and 14th Streets, NW on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and between E Street, NW and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW on 13th Street, NW until 1:00 pm.

       

      Walk Route

      The walk will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The walk will form at Freedom Plaza and will proceed over the following route:

       

      • Southeast on Pennsylvania Avenue to 3rd Street where they will U-turn
      • Proceed Northwest on Pennsylvania Avenue to Freedom Plaza where they will disband

      Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes.  The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
