Arrest Made in Homicide: 2300 Block of 24th Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 2300 block of 24th Street, Southeast.
On Sunday, January 12, 2014, at approximately 2:06 pm, members from the Seventh District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 2300 block of 24th Street, Southeast. Upon their arrival, members located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.
The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Deangelo Gatling of Southeast, Washington, DC.
On Friday February 7, 2014, at approximately 2:00 pm, 24-year-old David Washington of Southeast, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Murder While Armed in connection to the homicide of Deangelo Gatling.
