      Person of Interest Sought in an Assault with Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Assault: 3100 Block of South Dakota Avenue, NE

       

      (Washington, DC) - The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with an assault with the intent to commit first degree sexual assault, which occurred in the area of the 3100 block of South Dakota Avenue, NE.

       

      On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at approximately 4:30 am, the victim was walking in the area of South Capitol Street and Martin Luther King Jr Avenue, SW, when she accepted a ride from an unknown male suspect. The suspect drove the victim to a house in the 3100 block of South Dakota Avenue NE, where he demanded sex. The victim was able to break free and flee.  The suspect re-entered his vehicle and then struck the victim with it before making good his escape. 

       

      The suspect is described as a black male, in his 40’s, approximately 5’11” to 6’0” in height, dark complexion, bald head, thick chest, slight facial hair, last seen wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt, and dark blue jeans. The vehicle is described as a dark blue or green sedan.

       

      Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
