Second Arrest Made in Homicide: 700 Block of 12th Street, SE
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that a second arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 700 block of 12th Street, SE.
On Monday, June 24, 2013, at approximately 1:25 am, members of the First District received a call for the report of a shooting in the rear of the 700 block of 12th Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C. Upon their arrival, the members located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 25 year-old Tywayne Thompson of Southeast, Washington, DC.
On Friday, August 23, 2013, at approximately 12:38 am, uniformed members of the District of Columbia Housing Authority Police Department and members from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District arrested an adult male who was subsequently charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the death of Tywayne Thompson.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2013, detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch arrested 17 year-old Carlos Parks of Southeast and charged him with Murder Two in connection with the death of Mr. Tywayne Thompson.
