Additional Arrest Made in 2007 Homicide:
4900 Block Quarles Street, NE
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that a second arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 4900 block of Quarles Street, NE.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at approximately 6:10 am, police were called to the rear of the 4900 block of Quarles Street, N.E. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body and head. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that he had no signs consistent with life. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.
The decedent was identified as 32-year-old Nacarto Gladden of Northeast, DC.
On Friday, May 10, 2013, a suspect was arrested in Pennsylvania on unrelated charges in their jurisdiction and was later extradited to the District of Columbia and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed for the homicide of Narcarto Gladden.
On Friday, August 23, 2013, a second suspect identified as 29-year-old Don Hancock of Northeast, DC, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Murder One While Armed in connection to the death of Narcarto Gladden.
