      Suspects Sought in Assault with a Dangerous Weapon: 5th and K Street, NE

       

      (Washington, DC)-The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection with an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon in the area of 5th and K Street, NE.

       

      On Saturday, June 29, 2013, at approximately 4:05 am, a transgender female was walking in the area of 5th and K Street, NE when she was approached by two adult male subjects who attempted to rob her.  During the course of the robbery, one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired at the complainant, striking her. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where she was treated for non life-threatening injuries. The descriptions of the suspects are as follows:

       

      Suspect one: Black male, 19-20 years of age, light complexion, dreadlocks, last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a red jacket tied around his waist, armed with a handgun.

      Suspect two: Black male, dark complexion.

       

      Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any assault committed in the District of Columbia.
