      Weekend Street Closures for the Safeway Barbecue Battle

       

      (Washington, D.C.)  The Metropolitan Police Department has provided the following information regarding the street closures for the Safeway Barbecue Battle.  The street closures for this event are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 and continue through midnight on Sunday, June 23, 2013. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday. In order to facilitate this event, the following streets will be closed:

       

      • Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 9th Street to 14th Street NW
      • 10th Street NW from Constitution Avenue to E Street NW
      • 11th Street NW from Constitution Avenue to E Street NW
      • 12th Street NW from Constitution Avenue to E Street NW  

       

      All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

       

      Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes.  The Metropolitan Police Department and the District Department of Transportation also wish to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
