      Street Closures for National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday, May 26, 2013

       

      (Washington, D.C.) The following information about scheduled street closures for the National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday, May 26, 2013 has been provided by the U.S. Capitol Police. This concert, which is scheduled to be held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, is an annual event honoring American veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Services.

       

      Temporary street closures will begin on  Friday, May 24, 2013 at 1 a.m. through Monday, May 27, 2013 at 4 a.m. at the following locations:

       

      • First Street between Independence Avenue SW and Constitution Avenue NW

      • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between First Street NW and Third Street NW

      • Maryland Avenue between First Street SW and Third Street SW

       

      First Street between Garfield Circle and Peace Circle will remain closed through Monday, May 27, 2013 at 7 p.m.

       

      Parking in the immediate area of the U.S. Capitol is extremely limited. Please visit www.wmata.com to help plan your trip using public transportation.
