      Due to recent events located in PSA 502, community members, business
      owners, friends and neighbors are invited to attend an emergency
      community meeting. Caption M. Scott and Lt. J. Anderson along with
      other members of the Fifth District will hold this emergency meeting to
      share vital information concerning emerging activities in the community.




      The Captain will address these issues and neighborhood concerns at the
      Youth Services Center, 1000 Mt. Olivet Road, NE, WDC on Wednesday
      November 15, 2006 @ 7:00 pm. The Fifth District will also provide
      information on Neighborhood watch opportunities, personal safety
      precautions, Community safety, and reporting suspicious people in the
      community.

      Homicide in the 1100 Block of 21st Place, NE



      At approximately 7:35 pm, on Saturday, November 11, 2006, Metropolitan
      Police were called to the 1100 block of 21st Place, NE, for the report
      of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located 34-year-old Boyd King,
      whose last known address was in the 2100 block of Maryland Avenue, NE,
      suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was taken to
      the Washington Hospital Center's Medstar Unit and pronounced dead at
      8:35 pm.

      Also located at the scene was a 17-year-old female, suffering from an
      apparent gunshot wound to the ankle, and a 41-year-old male, suffering
      from an apparent gunshot wound to the buttocks. The identities of the
      victims are being withheld at this time because they are considered
      witnesses in this case.

      The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent
      Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call
      police at (202) 727-9099.

      The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who
      provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the
      person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District
      of Columbia.
