Robbery of an Establishment within the Fifth Police District.

The Fifth Police District is investigating a Robbery of a commercial establishment known as the Dollar Tree, located at 1919 Michigan Avenue, NE in Patrol Service Area (PSA) 503.

This morning, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at approximately 4:45 AM three (3) males entered the Dollar Tree Store while employees were off loading merchandise from a delivery truck and took an undetermined amount of US Currency.  Two of the suspects were armed with baseball bats and one with a dark handgun.  All three suspects fled the store on foot running towards Allison Street NE.

An Officer from the Fifth District was pulling into the lot to perform a business check and provided an immediate lookout for the three suspects.  MPD K-9 Units responded and performed a limited track that led to the discovery of US Currency that had been discarded as well as an article of clothing.
