      Person of Interest Sought in Armed Carjacking

       500 block of Kenyon Street, NW

       

      (Washington, DC)- The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with an armed carjacking which occurred on Friday, January 4, 2013, in the 500 block of Kenyon Street, NW.

       

      The subject entered a taxicab in the 800 block of H Street, NE, rode to the 500 block of Kenyon Street, NW and assaulted the driver before fleeing in the vehicle.  An ATM surveillance camera captured the subject prior to the offense occurring.   

       

      The person of interest is described as a black male with medium complexion, mid 50s and was wearing all dark clothing.

      Anyone with information that can assist in the identification of this subject is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
