In the past couple weeks there have been multiple shootings and homicides near the H street NE corridor.  2 of the shootings happened within one block on H street itself--shooting outside of rite-aid on December 17th and the day-time shooting at 9th and H on the 21st.

The double homicide on Blandensburg Rd. and the Christmas Eve killing at 12th and C that is being described as a robbery are both extremely troubling.  This year has also seen the killings of a shop-keeper on H street and a young man near Gallaudet University in October.

Are there any plans to hold a neighborhood meeting to discuss MPD's efforts to stem the rise in violent crime in the area?  If not, are there any initiatives or steps that police are taking to increase patrols etc. in the area?

Thank you for all that you do to keep our city safe.
