      Use the chart below as a guide to "Make the Right Call" in the District of Columbia .

       

      9-1-1 for Emergencies

      3-1-1 for Police Non-Emergencies

      727-100 for all Other City Services

      Any crime in progress (or just occurred, especially if the suspect is still on the scene

      Property crimes no longer in progress, such as vandalism, thefts, graffiti, stolen autos, and garage burglaries

      All other city services, such as Public Works, Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, Human services, and the Mayor's office

      Serious violent crimes such as homicide, robbery, domestic violence and assault

      Animal control problems, such as barking dogs

      Trash problems

      Fire/Medical emergencies

      Abandoned autos

      Water/Sewer problems
