Just as a heads up, the damaged car has been removed but the shell casing, as of this morning are still on the scene. I'm not sure if MPD was involved with the towing of the vehicle.

Officers should get out of their cars to conduct an investigation.  I know who responded to this call, so we will check to see what they did while at the scene.

Are there any details from the early morning gunfire on the 1400 block of Lawrence st NE. I'm a bit concerned that canvasing officers didn't exit their vehicles to examine damage to passenger sides of cars. Is their a procedure that can be shared when officers respond to a call such as this?

Citizens provided callback numbers but have yet to receive calls to assist. What else can we do to assist when these incidents occur?
