Units in the Fourth District were provided information on a stolen black SUV that was reported to possibly be involved in a 4th District armed robbery and several armed robberies in the 5th District and Takoma Park , MD. The vehicle was observed by 4D officers in the area of the 5700 blk of 2nd Street, NE last evening and the vehicle fled to the area of the 4500 blk of South Dakota Ave where its occupants bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and a foot chase ensued. Located and apprehended were two adult male suspects. A K9 unit assisted and also recovered was a gun and other items of evidence. One of the arrested subjects was positively identified as a suspect in a 5th District armed robbery that occurred yesterday and detectives are working to link these suspects to the other referenced robberies. A special thank you to Officers Langford, Davis, Wallace, Matos, Burggraf and Sutton and all other officers officials and Detectives who assisted with this case. To the community, thank you for your support as we continue to work identify and apprehend suspects responsible for crime in our neighborhoods.
