      Dear Fifth District MPD Supporter:

On Thursday, October 27, 2011, the Metropolitan Police Department, Fifth District Citizens' Advisory Council, (5DCAC), will hold its Annual Awards Gala to honor police officers and civilian personnel.  This year the dinner will be held at the Washington Navy Yard Catering and Conference Center, 1454 Parsons Avenue, SE, Washington, DC, commencing at 6:30 P.M. As you know, there are new challenges that MPD officers meet every day.   Indeed, we all recognize the important role of trained law enforcement officers in creating safer and more secure communities, and the need for a law enforcement community which sees its future as inextricably linked to its people and their diversity. On a daily basis, MPD officers and civilian personnel do lead by example and demonstrate their dedication to the communities they serve.

5DCAC is pleased to invite you to support this annual dinner by purchasing a ticket, a table and/or by sponsoring a Fifth District MPD awardee and his/her guest.  In addition, there is the opportunity for you to place an advertisement in the souvenir journal that we are preparing for the event.

A full or half-page advertisement in our souvenir journal will help to defray the cost of providing plaques to the awardees, of providing tickets (free of charge) to the honorees and their significant others as well as, more generally, of covering the expenses that are associated with the host venue. Importantly, everyone who purchases an advertisement will receive a copy of the souvenir journal. The names of Sponsors, Patrons and Friends will be listed on pages reserved for these categories of contribution.  To place an advertisement please contact the Awards Committee, awards@...  for advertising rates and information.

It is the hope you will welcome this opportunity to show your support for the officers and civilian staff of the Fifth District MPD.  The 5DCAC looks forward to your support for this Annual Awards Gala.  You can make your check payable to Fifth District Citizens' Advisory Council (5DCAC).
