      MPD Announces Arrests in Recent Robberies

       

      (Washington, DC)- Due to community concerns regarding robberies, the Metropolitan Police Department is releasing information on recent robbery arrests. Members of the public have been helpful in providing information that has led to arrests and MPD encourages members of the public to visit our YouTube page, view videos of cases, and contact police if they recognize persons of interest at: http://www.youtube.com/OfficialDCPolice

       

      Listed below are other recent robbery arrests made within the last week.

       

      First District

       

      ·       Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at approximately 9:06 pm, a complainant was walking in the 900 block of E Street, SE, when he was approached by several suspects who assaulted him and took his property.  An adult male and a juvenile female were arrested for Robbery Force and Violence.

       

      Third District

       

      ·       Friday, May 2, 2014, at approximately 3:52 pm, a complainant reported that while in the 3300 block of 14th Street, NW, a suspect snatched her purse and attempted to flee. A struggle ensued and the suspect assaulted the victim and fled. An adult male was arrested for Robbery Force and Violence.

       

      Fourth District

       

      ·       Monday, May 5, 2014, at approximately 3:13 pm, a complainant reported that while in the 5900 block of 14th Street, NW, she was approached by two suspects who announced a robbery, assaulted the complainant, and attempted to take the her property. Two juvenile males were arrested for Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

       

      ·         Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at approximately 2:25 pm, a complainant was in the 1200 block of Underwood Street, NW, when she was approached by a suspect who brandished a razor and announced a robbery. An adult male was arrested for Robbery.

       

      Fifth District

       

      ·       Saturday, May 3, 2014, at approximately 3:50 pm, a complainant reported that while in the 2100 block of H Street, NE, he was approached by several suspects who assaulted him and took the complainant’s property. Two adult males were arrested for Robbery Force and Violence.

       

      Sixth District

       

      ·       Monday, May 5, 2014, at approximately 3:52 pm, a complainant reported that while in the Unit block of 47th Street, SE, he was approached by a suspect who announced a robbery and demanded his property. A juvenile male was arrested for Robbery (Fear).

       

      ·         Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at approximately 12:07 am, a complainant reported that while in the area of 42nd Street and Benning Road, NE, he was approached by two suspects who brandished a handgun and demanded the complainant’s property. Two adult males were arrested for Robbery While Armed.

       

      Seventh District

       

      ·       Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at approximately 10:08 pm, a complainant reported that while in the 2300 block of 16th Street, SE, he was approached by three suspects who brandished a handgun and demanded the complainant’s property. An adult male and two juvenile males were arrested for Robbery While Armed.

       

      Anyone who is the victim of a crime or witnesses a crime in progress should call 911 immediately. Individuals who have information regarding crimes should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
