      Go team!!

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life, as by the obstacles which one has overcome while trying to succeed.

Fifth Police District Officers Arrest Three Individuals for Robbery.  This morning at approximately 1:00 AM Uniformed Officers of the Fifth Police District were called to  18th and I Streets, NE for the report a Robbery.  While an Officer interviewed the victim, a lookout was provided for a burgundy colored Mercury with four suspects.  An Officer had been making alley checks in the area and had just passed this suspect vehicle on Maryland Avenue, NE.  The Patrol Unit began to block square and observed the vehicle again in the 2000 block of Maryland Ave, NE. occupied by four individuals.  A Felony traffic stop was conducted and the victim was brought to where the traffic stop had been effected where he identified three of four individuals as those who had Robbed him.  All three were placed under arrest for Robbery and the driver of the vehicle was arrested on an unrelated charge.

All four were transported to the Fifth Police District Detectives Office for processing.  Items of evidence was recovered that tied these suspects to this Robbery.

This is another example of the hard work and attention to detail exhibited by Officers and Detectives of the Fifth Police District that serve you.  We are very proud of their efforts and focus on community policing, outreach, crime, the fear of crime and eliminating crime conditions.  Your Fifth Police District currently leads the City in crime reductions with a 13% reduction in Violent Crimes and 3% reduction in Property Crimes for the calendar year 2013.
