15927[MPD-5D] Late Night Activity by Perry Street School
- Jun 4 9:30 AMJosh, thank you for taking your time out to provide this information to us. Without inspecting the dirt bike, I will not be able to determine whether it was licensed and street legal. Chances are it's not and should not be ridden on public space or private property without written approval.I will pass along your observations to our Patrol Service Area Lieutenant to monitor and ensure that we move folks out the area of Perry and 18th Street, specifically between the school and the park.I will have the assigned PSA units attempt to locate and impound the dirt bike if located and not legal.Mark Beach

Subject: [MPD-5D] Late Night Activity by Perry Street School
Hi -- there was a kid riding a dirt bike back and forth up the sidewalk around 18th and Perry last night for about a half an hour around 1:00am. Woke me and my wife up. Are these bikes legal? They are frequently ridden around the Taft Rec Center and surrounding neighborhood at all hours.
Additionally, it seems that Perry Street and 18th, between the school and the park is a popular hangout for large crowd at all hours -- especially, but not limited to, the weekends.
Is it possible to get a bit more attention and patrols around this area? It seems like the Taft Rec Center and immediate surrounding areas could use a bit more police presence.
