10697Re: [MPD-5D] Re: Public Safety on and Near Metro Rail and Bus
- May 4 7:50 PMI am glad the issue of the Brookland armed robbery will be addressed in part at the next PSA meeting. The armed robbery incident underscores a much larger public safety problem. Crime on and around Metro rail and buses has increased throughout the city. Many are complaining that they do not feel safe while riding Metro or walking within close proximity to Metro. It is imperative that we address the problem from the standpoint of improving public safety at the Brookland Metro and throughout our city. The Brookland robbery is emblematic of a much larger public safety breach.

Last Wednesday a Brookland Neighbor Was Robbed at Gunpoint Near the Brookland Metro. This is not the first such incident and is unlikely to be the last. Unfortunately, Crime is Occurring with Greater Frequency on and around Metro Rail and on Metro Buses throughout the District of Columbia . Do You Feel Safe?
What are Metro Police and MPD Doing to Address the Crime Increase? What Can Citizens do About Crime on and Near Metro Rail and Buses?
