Hi Mike well I took a look at Freezout thursday evening while the temps were dropping very fast.  I was not there very long but long enough to count 57 Trumpter's and Tundra Swans combined. Good birding, Larry Carter

      All,
Some interesting birds still being seen at Freezout Lake. This morning
the Boneparte's Gulls, 1-200 Longbilled Dowitchers, a bunch of
Black-bellied Plovers and some yellowlegs were still at Pond 4 parking
lot. The swan count was up to 38...here they come. There are 50 Tundra
Swans with satellite radios this year. Several have reached central
Alberta and a couple from Alaska's north slope are in extreme northern
Montana (NNE of Plentywood). Other nice species on the Area include a
all black Red-tailed Hawk, a Townsend's Solitaire and a phalorope
(Wilson's?) out in the middle of Pond 6.
      Good birding,
      Mike Schwitters
