      MOB,

Monday, 22 July: Cottonwood Reservoir, QLL 29C. 300 plus Wilson's Phalarope, six Lesser Yellowlegs,11 Black-neck Stilts and numerous residents. Water getting very shallow in much of the northwest bay - should be ready for prime migration time.

Tuesday, 23 July: South Fork Deep Creek, QLL 39A. Sill no Black-backed Woodpeckers in last years Pine Creek burn. Did get two observations of adult American Three-toed Woodpeckers feeding recently fledged young. The second time lasted for about twenty minutes - the male chick would follow his mother from tree to tree and occasionally flake off a piece of bark, but mostly wait for her to dig out a grub and hop backwards down the tree to feed him.

To answer a previous request for information (my own): two hours yesterday evening and a few minutes this morning did not detect a Burrowing Owl in the large dog town just east of the access road to the Big Rock Fishing Access site 3 miles south of Big Timber, QLL 40A.
