  • The Around the Bay bike ride (300km option) passes though Flinders and past the Monument on the Esplanade on Sunday. Please watch out for them!

  • I have received a complaint from Council that a pilot's children were climbing all over the war memorials as follows: I met with members of the Flinders’ Community this week and they advised me that there was a glider (not sure what type) at the

  • In addition, note that the Monument gate must be closed at all times if unsupervised. You can't supervise it by watching it from the air! If you're the only pilot there and you must fly (not recommended), you MUST arrange for the gate to be closed behind

  • I met with Council on site this afternoon and it looks like it may work out that we will get a 6m wide gate at Flinders Monument. Watch this space. NOTE: The gate combo was changed today also. See the HGFA members forum for the update. regards John.

  • From my experience, Sunday morning (early start) might be epic at Flinders and Spion for high performance gliders working gust line convergence. However, tides will be highish and the storm may have reduced the beach even further to the point where the

  • The forecast was good. I arrived to find Joe B already in the air. Strongish conditions with good height available (about 200ft) for the small site; eventually swung a bit North so time to land. The wind along the LH beach made it easy. John R.

  • There's no rating set on the site guide, but I would recommend intermediate mainly because the beat is short and landing areas can be tight. Notes: Don't fly at high tide; I don't recommend top landings in a hang glider as the brush on the clifftop causes
