The club will be running a mentoring event at Locksley, designed to
      help novices with thermalling.

Each novice will be paired with an experienced pilot on a dedicated
radio channel. The experienced pilot will be towed up to get
established in a thermal and then the novice dropped off in the same
      thermal.

This will be combined with a scatter competition, where a set of
waypoints will be given a points allocation and you just have to tag as
many as you can over the long weekend.

Some waypoints are very close to the field to encourage new pilots to
have a go without getting out of touch with the field.

So we’re looking novices and some experienced pilots to be mentors.
Comment here or PM me, another committee member or Pete Holloway if
      you’re interested.

Waypoints etc will be published soon.
