- Dec 17, 2018Hi AllThis is just to let our flying community know that (just like last year) Alpine Community Plantations will from time to time be applying traffic control measures on the access tracks to Mystic Hill Launch over the upcoming Christmas/New Year period. This is in anticipation of a high level of usage of Mystic Park by cyclists, pilots and others. It is a safety measure aiming to limit the total amount of vehicles in Mystic Park and also minimise wear and tear on the access tracks.Traffic control staff will be located at Mystic Lane straight. They will have been instructed to only allow a certain number of vehicles into Mystic Park. They will also be monitoring driver behavior.Just like last year, pilot transport vehicles will be exempt from these control measures. Pilots are to make themselves known to traffic staff and they will be let through.Pilots traveling up and down the access tracks are requested to:1. Treat traffic management staff with respect and consideration2. Car pool - this helps us to contribute to minimizing the traffic on the track and parking on launch3. Drive with due care and respect to other users of the track (for NEVHGC guidelines on road etiquette, please refer to: https://www.nevhgc.net/mystiquette/driving )4. Expect and be on the lookout for increased bike and foot traffic either on the access tracks or crossing them (note: major track crossings now have signage on the access tracks)Looking forward to flying with you all and enjoying and sharing our magnificent flying site.Cheers and Season's Greetings!Karl TexlerSenior Safety OfficerNorth East Victoria Hang Gliding Club
