Players like Brophy, Perry, Muckler, Stratton, Deschamps & Gregory might not get the ink in today's sport section - but just ask a former EHL Ducks fan to recall a favorite moment involving one of these past Long Island Ducks finest and you're likely to get an ear full. They played in the Long Island Arena in Commack, New York during the 60's and early 70's. For those of us who grew up only minutes away, it was our personal Madison Square Garden. A 5,000 seat mecca that was home to the most exciting hockey team on earth. Where else could you line the walkway from the visitors locker room and boo the hated Clinton Comets, or Nashville Dixie Flyers players on their way to the ice. Or, stand behind the goal and shout at the opposing goalie through the chain link fencing above the boards and have them shout right back. Although the Ducks and the Long Island Arena are no longer with us, their memories will live on and so will some of the fondest memories of our lives. We'd like to hear from you - Share your stories of former Long Island Ducks players, a favorite game you attended, or any tidbit that you feel your fellow Long Island Ducks fans would enjoy.
