HMS Ocean is making a visit to Greenwich for pre-Olympic security exercises.

The Greenwich Council official newspaper says that it is due to arrive on
Friday 4th May and stay about a week. It will be operating several
      helicopters.

It also says that it will be open to the public at some stage. E-mail
      ray.seabrook@... for enquiries.

Time of arrival is not given, but it will have to be near high tide; maybe
      around midnight or midday?

For the Olympics proper, it is due to return on July 13 and stay for two
      months until September 16.

          Charlie,

Thanks for this. I will be waiting to photograph it, probably at the
          Barrier.

I have now found reference to it on the http://thamesvessels.blogspot.co.uk/

website which gives its timetable as:
          Gravesend 0915
          QE2 Bridge 0945
          Barrier 1045
          O2 1105
          WI turn 1115
          Gnwch Tier 1145

It is now showing on the AIS website on http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/,
and was off Boulogne at 2100Z Thursday.

ITV London News Thursday evening had pictures of some Lynx's below decks.

For residents of Greenwich borough, it will be open for visitors on Monday.
