What are opinions when reassembling PW motors that have the top and bottom thrust bearings / washers regarding lubrication (example - 736, GP7s, early ALCOs)?

What are opinions when reassembling PW motors that have the top and bottom thrust bearings / washers regarding lubrication (example - 736, GP7s, early ALCOs)?  I have been putting a generous amount of grease in the cupped area of the thrust bearing and a thin layer of grease on both sides of the four thrust washers.

Should grease be placed on both sides of the thrust washers or only on the sides next to the thrust bearings?

      Thanks,
      - Luther

A thin layer of appropriate grease on any of the surfaces is fine and will hurt nothing.-TM   Thomas M. McLean     On Friday, February 14, 2014 9:33 AM,
