    Hi Everyone Having trouble compiling the new package. See snip from the make output below. Looks like some header files are missing but not sure

      Having trouble compiling the new package.

      See snip from the make output below. Looks like some header files are missing but not sure why......xmllib2 package is installed and up to date.

      Any ideas?

          It looks like makedepend is not installed on your machine. Ubuntu (and debian-like systems?) require xutils-dev to be installed. I believe Redhat and other RPM-based systems have a specific package containing makedepend.

          That should get you past this.

          Brian Thanks.....that was exactly what it was..... interestingly enough I notice the config files end up in /etc I thought the new convention was to put this

            I thought the new convention was to put this stuff in /usr/local/etc

            anyway not a problem

              Yeah. That part of the code is untouched for a few years and has not been made configurable in any real way. We'll have to see about carving out some time to look at that for the next release. We have some additional things needing to be done soon, and may be able to add that in to make it more flexible and "correct".

              With the departure of our special object only library, we'll have have to take a new look at a proper autconf setup (I have a pretty full plate right now, so that's going to be down the list for a little while).
