      Yes. Openlink is just a hacked version of the original firmware, so
      it basically looks and works the same as before but with a lot of
      extra features. Many of them somewhat hidden.

      It is the other firmware choice: "Freelink", that totally (except for
      the kernel) replaces the original OS, installs a minimal Debian Linux
      and drops you into a command prompt. It is then up to you to install
      what ever GUI's or other applications you want.
