added a host of debug to my do-backup.pl script.
It appears to be hanging/crashing on the line:
$localTemp = readpipe ("echo -n `ps $localTempPID`");
inside the while(1) loop that checks to see whether the cp has
finished or not, the variable $localTempPID has a valid PID and the
loop has run several times on the same PID before stopping. Our
current theory is that the linkstation is running out of memory and
the way the script is written, it isn't giving the Perl garbage
collector time to run.
Any Perl experts care to suggest anything? I'll be writing a shell
script to do a simple copy of the files from one drive to another and
run that from cron but i'd prefer to get the built in backup method
working as it's nice and configurable.
