      why dont you use the modified one where telnet is enabled?
      if you want to change something later it is far more easy...

        If you don't like the idea of having an open telnet daemon on your
        Linkstation you could delete the S05telnet link. After this the
        Linkstation behaves like a "normal" one.
        Or perhaps wedgemusic has enough room to host the unmodified firmware ?
