- Mar 31, 2009-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*** APRIL FOOLS DAY / CONFICKER VIRUS ***-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THREAT IS EXTREMELY SERIOUS
The April Fools Day virus, or Conficker.C virus, is real. The ABC evening news did a report on it this evening, as have most other news outlets. This virus is a major threat to operating systems.I recommend you use the detection tool mentioned in the article below to see if you are at risk. April 1st is when the virus is set to strike so you need to check your computer now and make sure you anti-virus software is up to date, etc.I am passing this information on from my brother who is a computer and IT tech administrator. Again, this virus is REAL. The scan does not take very long to run. (It took mere seconds on my system.)Also, please *** UPDATE YOUR VIRUS PROTECTION ** and keep it updated!!! Likewise your Windows updates and other software. That should be a STANDARD practice for anyone even using a computer. If you are not doing this you are putting yourself and others at RISK.Thanks, duchovletGroup Owner------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SECOND REMOVAL TOOL YOU CAN USE------------------------------------------------------------------------Here's another form of the BitDefender scanner that you run from right
inside your web browser (you will need to install the Active X thing
when/if it asks). It scans for more than just the Conficker and it may
ask to upload a file (or maybe a few) so that it can do a full scan of
them... Yes it is OK to do that.
