What a wonderful question and timely.  Lidcombe is slowly gaining in popularity in this country.  Most people still don’t know about it but slowly new and old clinicians are recognizing that this evidence based program can help.  I too am wondering who is doing the training.

I don’t know about the rest of you but my biggest problem is getting parents to comply.  Mark ’s response to that is “make them do it.”  How do I make a mother who clearly can’t control her children “Do it?”   I am very good with parents and work all the time at helping them deal better with their children but work with them rather than “Make them do it,” which takes time.  Is this is an issue for the rest of you and how are you dealing with it?.

I won't take training until the summer for Lidcombe, but I plan to require that all parents attend an introductory session (hopefully in groups so they can hear each other's questions) where I explain that the program is a behavior-based program and that they are at the helm.
