49 LexiLine Newsletter 2005 Saumur Bagneux Dolmen For Sale
Pascal Normand, the owner of the land on which the Saumur Bagneux
Dolmen stands, has put his property,
including the dolmen, the largest in France, up for sale.
Here is a letter I wrote to Mr. Normand (his reply - also in
Babelfish English translation - follows):

Subject: Sale of Dolmen and Land
My name is Andis Kaulins and I am the author of Stars Stones and
a book in which I include the Saumur Bagneux dolmen as being part
of a Neolithic (Stone Age) Survey of France ca. 3117 BC
with Saumur Bagneux marking Ursa Major.
I read that you will sell the dolmen and land.
If I had the money I would buy your property. Alas, I do not have
this kind of cash.
Be aware, however, that this is much more than a tomb which it
never was originally, but something much more important historically.

Below is the Alta Vista Babelfish translation, French to English
"Hello, Afflicted, my written English is very bad, I answer you in
French. Thank you for your enamel, it touched me much. Unfortunately
for you, as for me, you do not have the means of buying the Dolmen of
Bagneux. I regret it because it is a person as you who would be the
ideal new owner. I would have been happy to sell it to you.
Nevertheless, you are welcome with the Dolmen when you want it. With
soon perhaps Yours sincerely, Pascal Normand"
Perhaps we should all start a "Save the Megaliths Fund"? Where is the
French government in all of this??
