This group is dedicated to the 3rd installation of the Law and Order franchise. This version does not only include the elements of the police investigation and courtroom drama, but also includes the added element of looking into the criminal's mind.

The team is lead by the "super- genious" Detective Robert Goren (D'Onofrio) who has the unique ability to go into the criminal's mind. Joined by his more quiet but tough and ironic humored partner Detective Alex Eames (Erbe). The strong- willed Detective G. Lynn Bishop (Buck) was partnered with Goren as a temperary partner while Det. Eames was on maternity leave (Season 4). They are lead by Captian James Deakins (Sheridan). Their Assistant District Attorney is the intellectual Ron Carver (Vance). Starting in the 5th season (2005- 2006), L&O's reprising role of the opinionated, stubborn, but super- intelligent Mike Logan (Noth) will join the cast of this series along with his partner, Detective Carolyn Barak (Sciorra). Also, starting in the sixth season are Eric Bogosian as Captain Danny Ross and Julianne Nicholson as Detective Megan Wheeler. By the end of season 5 Ron Carver (Vance) left leaving the squad without a replacement ADA; Logan switched partners to Wheeler (Nicholoson) and Deakins (Sheriden) retired replaced by Ross (Bogosian); Actors and Actress left for one reason or another.
