Group Description
Will Rogers often commented that everyone complained about the weather, but no one did anything about it. So too do the home shop/hobbiest machinist
enthusiasts: "They don't make any affordable good lathes anymore; the affordable lathes currently made just ain't any good!" Now's your chance.
Help develop a set of sensible design criteria--both desired and required--for such a lathe, and then help look at how these requirements might possibly be effected in a manufactured product to produce an affordable hobbiest lathe. Essentially, what we will be doing, is developing the Requirements Document portion of the Initial Marketing Research package that a manufacturer always develops in order to decide whether a market exists for a product that they can manufacture--in this instance a lathe--that will be profitable for them and affordable to us, the home metal shop hobbiests. Now's your chance...to excel...to be positive...to have a REAL influence!!
With an increase of spammers trying to join these groups, we've decided to take a closer look in approving new members. Please be specific in stating your interest in joining this group. Generic comments and comments unrelated to the interests of this group will get your membership request denied without exception.
