      Hi

Polis is a network of European cities and regions from across Europe, which promotes, supports and advocates innovation in local transport. Polis strive to improve transport at local level, especially in relation to the environment, mobility demand, the economic & social dimensions of transport and safety. (See: http://www.polis-online.org/index.php?id=48#c8)

I attend their meetings in Brussels, Paris and other European cities.

Polis has recently responded to a consultation from the European Union re Green Transport policies for Urban Areas.

As previously reported, my organisation (TfL) submitted evidence directly to the EU and now in their very long response, POLIS has adopted the following policy:

      Hopefully  -  It’s a start.

I understand this did not open for all recipients:-

"3.European research and debate should also address the possibility to use land-value capture to improve the financing of collective transport project in order to improve the supply of public transport thus providing cleaner and more efficient urban transport solutions."

        Best Wishes,
