      Next week is the national festival of cycling! Hundreds of events are planned across London offering the "biggest celebration of pedal power this summer" Further information is available on the Festival website www.cyclingfestival.org.uk
       
      Events in  Lambeth include
       
      Monday 18 June - Opening of new cycle facilities at Herne Hill station. 18:30. Organised by Lambeth Council. Lets celebrates Lambeth's achievements in developing cyle friendly facilities at Herne Hill. See the attached invitation for further details.
       
       
      Tuesday 19 June - Commuter Challenge. Meet 8:00 - Streatham to the London Eye: comparison of time taken by different modes of transport.
       
      Wednesday 20 June - Bike to work. Meet 7:20 - Cycle ride from the Ritzy, Brixton to the Old Vic cafe for breakfast
       
      Thursday 21 June - Barbecue and quiz. Meet 7:30 for feeder ride from National Theatre. Barbecue from 8ish
       
      Sunday 24 June - Leisurely ride from Waterloo to Woolwich. Meet 11:00, National Theatre for pleasant lesiurely Sunday ride.
