I used to use a GPS reradiator in our club's all-steel dome with a 14" LX200GPS. Unfortunately, when we were moving from that location someone destroyed it.

FWIW, that cable flexes quite a bit in normal operation. You may get intermittent continuity depending on position. It was the culprit on my scope. Joe From:

In addition, the typical cause for level north failure is the ribbon cable that runs up the left fork arm. If it is crimped or any of the small wires broken

It could be a problem with the dec motor, dec motor wiring, dec motor encoder or dec motor controller board. Time to start checking out the other fork arm.

The module was intact and in position and I could hear the ball moving as it should. I removed the cable and reset it several times to clean contacts a bit.
